Live a God-centered life – it’s the best life you can live
After a night of partying, drinking, and using drugs I woke up hungover. The sudden comprehension of my inability to attend work became apparent. I have never missed a shift before. The realization that my life was out of control struck me. I relentlessly prayed to God, but it was futile. My life was still a mess. One week had passed and I walked to my friend Domo’s apartment. Once I had walked in, I was greeted by the sight of a young woman making breakfast in the kitchen. She greeted me by saying “Hello”. I responded by asking where Domo was. Before I could finish my sentence, Domo walked out of his bedroom and confessed to me that this young girl wouldn’t sleep with him. Domo asked me to change her mind. When I inquired for her reasoning she simply responded by saying that she thought it would not be very Christian of her. I said to Domo that I couldn’t argue against that. The young lady simply looked at me and smiled. She asked me if I was a Christian. I said I did not know. She asked me if I had a personal relationship with Jesus. I said I believe in Jesus, but I didn’t understand her question. She asked me if I wanted to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I paused for a long time. I said, “Yes.” She asked me to pray with her and I accepted Jesus Christ the Lord as my personal savior. I felt like my heart was hit with a bolt of lightning. That was over 30 years ago. To this day, I don’t know her name and I never saw her again. I do know God answered my prayer and my life changed forever.
